Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
-
What is libs.tech
libs.tech is an ad-free, tracking-free, and low-noise tool for staying on top of tech ecosystems you're interested in. Discover top, trending, and new libraries—plus hidden gems you've probably never heard of.
-
Who's behind the project?
It's been coded and maintained under loads of caffeine by Eduards Sizovs 👨💻☕.
-
Where do you source events from?
We automatically monitor various sources and rely on contributors for new submissions. It's a good mix of automation (20%) and manual work (80%).
-
What criteria are used to determine what's trending?
Trending is based on the number of GitHub stars and libs.tech likes and bookmarks in the last 7 days, recalculated daily.
-
How is this different from existing lists?
The problem with static lists is that they're mostly "add-only"—new links keep getting added, but old ones rarely get removed. Unlike static listings, we automate the detection of unmaintained or archived libraries, so you always get fresh and relevant projects. You can also bookmark libraries, sort them, search, or subscribe via email and RSS.
-
How to add a library?
Just click "Add" at the top of the website. Authentication is required to prevent spam and abuse.
-
What is the inclusion criteria?
We focus on well-maintained, well-documented, and production-ready libraries—ones you can confidently drop into real projects. Though our focus is on libraries, we intentionally include exceptional tools and binaries that are too valuable to overlook.
